Low Cost Vaccine Clinic Q & A

Low Cost Vaccine Clinic Flint, TX

Flint Veterinary Clinic is excited to host our Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic on December 8!

We understand how rising costs can impact pet owners. To support our community, we are offering essential vaccines and services at reduced prices. This special event allows your pet to stay protected while keeping routine care affordable.

All appointments on December 8 will include a brief health exam to ensure your pet is safe to receive vaccines. If concerns are found, vaccines may be postponed for your pet’s safety. This exam provides a basic assessment of your pet’s vital signs and vaccination readiness. It does not replace a full, comprehensive physical examination.

At Flint Veterinary Clinic, we uphold high standards of care. Our regular office visits include a detailed nose-to-tail exam that evaluates ears, eyes, teeth, paws, abdomen, musculoskeletal health, body condition, and more. These in-depth evaluations are not included in the low-cost exam. If you prefer more dedicated time with a veterinarian, please schedule a full appointment during normal business hours.

Please note: Appointments are required. A $15 brief exam fee applies to all patients, in addition to the cost of any vaccines.

Q: When is the Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic?

A: The clinic will be held December 8 (all day). Appointments are required.

Q: Can I request a specific veterinarian?

A: We cannot guarantee which veterinarian you will be scheduled with for this event.

Q: What services are offered at the Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic?

A: Services include:

  • Brief exam (required for all patients) – $15
  • Low-cost vaccines
  • Microchipping
  • Flea & tick prevention
  • Nail trim – $15

Q: Why does my pet need an exam before receiving vaccines?

A: All pets must be examined to ensure they are healthy enough for vaccines. Pets must be:

  • Bright, alert, and responsive
  • Hydrated
  • Eating and drinking normally

If your pet is showing signs of illness, we will schedule a medical appointment during normal hours at a discounted rate.

Q: What if the veterinarian decides my pet isn’t healthy enough for vaccines?

A: For your pet’s safety, the veterinarian may decline vaccines if they do not meet the minimum health requirements.

Q: What if I want a full exam for my pet?

A: If you want a comprehensive physical exam or need to address medical concerns, please schedule a regular appointment outside of the Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic.

Q: What information do I need to schedule an appointment?

A: We will need your contact information, your pet’s information, and the name of your previous veterinary hospital. Previous vaccine records help us determine which vaccines are due and avoid over-vaccination.

Q: What vaccines are required by the state?

A: The Rabies vaccine is required for all dogs and cats. Your pet will go home with a rabies tag and certificate.

Some vaccines are considered core vaccines, while others are recommended based on lifestyle and exposure risks.

Q: What preventions are offered?

A: Flea & tick prevention: NexGard and NexGard Combo

If you prefer different preventives, we can guide you to additional options through our online pharmacy.

Q: Which patients are excluded from the Low Cost Vaccine Clinic?

A: Puppies and kittens under 8 weeks of age are excluded. We will see puppies/kittens over 8 weeks of age; however, they require dedicated time for education, wellness planning, and guidance, which we provide during regular appointments rather than at the Low Cost Vaccine Clinic.

All dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must arrive in a secure carrier.
